Handscharstrike In March 1943 the newly formed 1st Waffen SS Panzer Korps delivered its devastating counter attack against the Red Army at Kharkov.  The Korps was composed of the Leibstandarte, Das Reich, and Totenkopf Waffen SS Panzergrenadier Divisions. At Kharkov they fought a tough and bitter battle against the Red Army and the relentless Russian winter.
