T-62 Tank were used by some of the Eastern Block nations and over 22,000 of these tanks were manufactured. They have a 115mm smoothbore gun. Despite entering service in 1961, as late as 1990 over 11,000 of these tanks were still in service with the Soviet Union. It is essentially an upgraded T-55 series tank, with a longer hull. The armor protection has been re-arranged so that the frontal armor is heavier but the side and rear armor is a bit thinner, to conserve weight.These tanks were used all over the Middle East and even Israel has used them. Afghanistan used them and they were used by Iraq also. They have been found as far away as Cuba.
